Vic Schmidt was understandably excited when he received a letter and pictures from his daughter Buffy, who is serving our country in the U.S. Army. Already a sergeant and stationed in Kuwait, Buffy has traveled to Baghdad and hopes to visit Turkey if the opportunity arises. Buffy wrote about some of her adventures in Kuwait. Most recently, she paid $2 to ride a camel during some free time. She’s doing well and has kept her sense of humor. In her letter she wrote, “I live like a queen … OK, not quite, I don’t live in a palace, but I do get to live in an air conditioned tent.” Schmidt has been stationed in Kuwait since March. We miss her sweet smile and hope she’ll come home soon.
