Kimball opened up scoring in the first inning with two runs, and they tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Leither, Hallie Arnold, and Morgan Streit, each plating runners and gathering RBIs.
Claire Maus got the win for the Cubs, allowing four hits and one run over five innings, and striking out seven. Kimball smacked one home run on the day, when Leither got a fourth-inning dinger. Streit, Leither, and Fischer, had three hits each to lead hitting explosion.
