Kimball spring clean-up participants rid households of unwanted appliances, waste
Kimball received a thorough spring cleaning Saturday, May 31. Stearns County Environmental Services reported that 49 households took advantage of the Household Hazardous Waste Collection. Central Appliance collected 84 unwanted appliances, up from 48 in 2002. Providing a dumpster was a great service to area residents; many people have expressed that they hope we will have this service next year. Most likely, we will. Many people used the clothing drop for the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota. The day was a huge success because of the following volunteers: Sheila Hinkemeyer, Dottie Serbus, Jeremy Jeppesen, DuWayne Orbeck, Karla Davis, Mabel Linn, Dan Konz, Jim Young, Todd Rohloff, Dan Dawson, Bob Erickson, Bob Buermann and Chris Jeppesen. Thanks to the American Legion Auxiliary for making and serving the lunch. Thanks to Schmidty’s Kimball Conoco, Gohmann’s SuperValu and the Knaus Sausage House for the food donations. Thank you to the Tri-County News for the articles they published for the Clean Up Day. A “thank you” to all residents who made use of our Clean-Up Day. Your continued support allows us to provide this service each year. A special thank you to A.M. Maus and Son and Gohmann’s SuperValu for the use of their facilities as the collection site. With all the help from the above people and organizations, the Eighth Annual Clean-Up Day was successful once again. I would like to thank everyone who helped with “Clean-Up Day” in any way. It made my job a lot easier. If there are any other services you would like to see added to the Household Hazardous Waste “Clean-Up Day”, please call Chris Jeppesen at City Hall, (320) 398-2725 between the hours of 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
