The Cubs ousted Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City in Sub-Section 5A quarterfinal action on Thursday, Oct. 25. They faced number one seed Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Friday and lost to the powerhouse Jaguars, 0-3.

(ACGC Match) Kimball defeated ACGC by a 3-1 final tally. Set scores were 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, and 25-22. Erin O’Brien had 11 kills and 4 total blocks. Emma Antigua had 10 kills, 3 ace serves, 5 total blocks, and 11 digs. Madaline Fox had 7 kills and 17 digs. Bailey Joseph had 4.3 assists per game with 17 total assists. “This is the best I have seen the girls play all season. They were aggressive in their swings and played better defense,” said Coach Tabitha Mortenson.
(BBE Match) The Cubs saw their season culminate with a loss to BBE on Friday, Oct. 26. Set scores were 13-25, 7-25, and 14-25. “We really struggled to play defense against a strong and big BBE team,” offered Coach Mortenson. Emma Antigua (freshman) led Kimball with five kills. Lucy Schiefelbein (freshman) and Maddi Fox (senior) each had three; and Lucy was also credited with one ace. “It has been a rough season. It took us a long time to be somewhat comfortable together on the court. We had a lot of young players who had to step into positions on the varsity. We look forward to seeing these girls continue to work together and get better,” Coach Mortenson explained.
