It all started in the heat of the summer, but the Kimball Kruisers were already thinking about Christmas. Ashley Schiefelbein, who came up with the idea, has a lot of Christmas spirit and wished to increase Kimball’s Christmas decorations. She has always liked the park and thought it would be an exciting addition to have the park decorated for Christmas. Ashley says “I was driving through town one day, already thinking about Christmas, when I passed Willow Creek Park and thought about how great it would be to see it decorated for Christmas. As a graduated 4-H member, I immediately thought of the Kimball Kruisers and knew that they would be up to the challenge.”
At Willow Creek Park, the Kimball Kruisers have already decorated around the ice skating rink, the shelter and have put up a sleigh, that was built by Matthew Massman. The sleigh is available for people to sit in and take pictures.
The Kimball Kruisers have also created a Business Decorating Contest which is going on now. Look around town to see all the great decorations.
As the word spreads, Kimball is feeling very jolly and helpful. Thank you to anyone who has donated lights and supported this project. We hope to see the project grow over the years.
Also, look for the Kimball Kruisers, who are sponsoring a Santa Store Saturday, Dec. 12, at City Hall. Kids, when you come to see Santa you can do some Christmas shopping as well. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
