Kindergarten graduation celebration

Alissa Gunnerson’s kindergartners graduated with songs, smiles and cake Friday, May 30. Twenty-one graduates serenaded parents, guardians and friends with both music and sign language. The melodies not only showcased the children’s musical abilities, but also highlighted their academic achievements. One song illustrated how the children learned the letters of the alphabet, another song demonstrated the childrens’ ability to count by twos, fives and 10s. For one of their final numbers, the graduates sang a group favorite: “Monkeys and Alligators.” The ceremony also included a video of the students at work and play throughout the year. In the video, students shared what they learned in kindergarten – how to color in the lines, how to write words and letters and how to respond to fire drills. Students and guests were treated to cake and juice after the ceremony.
