The annual membership meeting of the Kingston Johnson Kelly American Legion Post 483 and Auxiliary members will be Tuesday evening, Aug. 28 – 6 p.m. pay annual dues; 6:30 p.m. dinner, sponsored by legion members and serving assisted by auxiliary members Lauri Wells, Alice Von Ende and Cindy Arens (furnishing cakes), speaker Boy Stater; 7:30 p.m. separate business meetings. Auxiliary officers are Lauri Wells, president; Judy Compton, secretary; Mary Jane Arens, treasurer; Sandi Smith, chaplain; and Linda Atkinson, sergeant-at-arms. Legion officers are Gary Mansicka, commander; Paul Karinen, secretary; Darrel Hedlund, treasurer; and Luke Lekander, chaplain. The legion has three servicemen from the Kingston area deployed to Iraq – Zach Wells, Chuck Chapman and Chris Kocina.
