Veteran’s birthday celebration Members of the Johnson-Kelly American Legion Auxiliary of Kingston visited the Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud Monday, June 28, to celebrate the monthly birthday party in Building 51. Mike presented a trivia program about Father’s Day and fishing. One of the residents serenaded everyone with his rendition of “God Bless America.” “Happy Birthday” was sung, and bars, cookies, lemonade and coffee were served. Ruby Justison baked the bars. Birthdays that were recognized were Ben S., Herman H., Warren C., Elmer T., Lloyd B., Don J. and Clarence G. “Happy Birthday” to all of them. Regular business meeting The Kingston Johnson-Kelly Legion Auxiliary regular business meeting was held Tuesday, June 29. The main order of business was the installation of new officers. New officers for 2004-05 are: President Jan Nelson, First vice president Judy Compton, Second vice president Darcy Chapman, Treasurer Mary Jane Arens, Executive committee Dorothy Jensen and Ann Hamilton, Secretary Ruby Justison and Chaplain Sandy Smith. The membership dinner for the Legion Post and Auxiliary will be Tuesday, Aug. 31. Speakers will be the Girls’ and Boys’ State delegates.
