Kimball boys’ basketball coach Jay Klein has been named Central Minnesota Conference Co-Coach of the Year, along with Rockford boys’ coach Mike Tauber. In a vote of Central Minnesota Conference boys’ basketball coaches, the honor was bestowed upon Coach Klein in his first year at the helm as the Cubs head basketball coach. During the season, the Cubs won more games than in the past several seasons. Coach Klein and his staff, which included Josh Orn and Jeremy Kuechle, put a team on the floor which played with great effort, intensity and heart, which can be attributed to the leadership Coach Klein demonstrated throughout the season.
