Knisley runs for diabetes

·

“Cure, commitment, care.” On June 23, 2002, Julie Knisley took that logo of the Diabetes Association and turned it into reality. Julie and 11 other members of Minn. Team D traveled to Kona, Hawaii, and ran a marathon to help fight diabetes. As a team, they raised more than $60,000 for advocacy, research and a cure for diabetes. Team D from all the participating states raised more than $2.3 million. Knisley finished in five hours six minutes and came in 356th place out of 1,172 runners. This was Knisley’s first full marathon. Thank you to all those who donated, especially Country Gallery photography studio of Kimball and B & H Seal Coating of Litchfield.
