The Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict are pleased to announce that Sister Louise (Redempta) Koltes is celebrating 50 years of religious vocation. The monastic community will celebrate her commitment to religious life at a Eucharist on the Feast of St. Benedict at 10:30 a.m. July 11. Sister Louise was born in Kimball. She taught in elementary schools throughout central Minnesota, in addition to serving as choir director and organist. She continues her ministry to the elderly at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. Sister Louise made her profession of vows in 1954 at Saint Benedict’s Monastery. The Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph is a community of women who are committed to enhancing the spiritual lives of others. In their ministries, the Sisters of Saint Benedict are devoted to serving others in parishes, social justice organizations, and educational and health care institutions that reflect the current needs of the church and the world.
