Madison Hurrle?Äôs 16 points led the undefeated Kimball team to a non-conference win (49-32) at Swanville Tuesday, Dec. 9. The sophomore guard also pulled down 7 rebounds and 7 steals, topping the defensive charge. The Cubs jumped out 3-0 on a three pointer by junior guard Taylor Schreiner and would never trail in the contest. Schreiner connected on 3 treys in the first half to help Kimball take a commanding 29-8 lead at the break. Sophomore post player Caitlin O?ÄôBrien secured 8 boards to lead the team in rebounding. It was nice to build a lead and work on ball control in the second half.
?ÄúSwanville did a nice job of applying full court pressure on us in the second half, and we had to toughen up and work on ball security and seeing the whole floor,?Äù said Coach Jeremy Kuechle.
The Cubs shot 17 second-half free throws, converting on nine of them, to maintain a double-digit lead throughout. Cubs?Äô Scoring: Taylor Schreiner, 9; Hannah Serbus, 2; Madison Hurrle, 16; Alexa Ruehle, 1; Madelyn O?ÄôBrien, 6; Caitlin O?ÄôBrien, 7; Rebeckah
