Lady Cubs?Äô basketball team loses on the road

·

The Kimball girls traveled to Browerville on Monday, Dec. 22, and came away with a non-conference loss, 59-50. Madelyn O?ÄôBrien and Madison Hurrle led the Cubs?Äô offensive attack with 14 and 13 points respectively. Despite a Browerville 29-18 halftime lead, the Tigers held a slim, three-point edge with just a minute-and-a-half remaining. But they persevered and went on a 6-0 run to close out the Kimball girls for good. Kimball jumped out to an early lead with a 14-7 run through the game?Äôs first 7 minutes.  But the Tigers clawed their way back to claim the 11-point halftime bulge. Kimball closed the gap to 53-50 after a pair of baskets by Madelyn O?ÄôBrien and Taylor Schreiner, with just 1:30 remaining. Foul shots in the last minute would stretch the final score to Browerville 59, Kimball 50.

?ÄúIt was an all-around team effort. This team proved they can play with one of the top teams in our section, if they play together and come ready to play. We keep talking about doing the little things to make ourselves a better team ?Ķ and the little things in basketball collectively become the big things when it comes to winning games,?Äù said Coach Jeremy Kuechle.
