Eden Valley-Watkins defeated Annandale in the Sub-Section 5AA West Semifinals last Tuesday, May 23, (2-0). Kallie Plantenberg tossed a three-hitter and Miranda Scherer slugged a two-run homer to lead seventh-seeded Eden Valley-Watkins past second-seeded Annandale. Plantenberg struck out nine and walked three for the Eagles.
EV-W then faced the number one seed Maple Lake girls. The matchup proved overwhelming for the Eagles, as Maple Lake advanced with a 10-0 win in five innings.
