The Lake Area Music Teachers’ Forum sponsored four piano Honors Recitals the weekend of May 16-18. The first two recitals took place Friday, May 16, at Gethsemane Lutheran in Dassel, followed by two more Sunday, May 18, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato. Seventy-six students participated in the recitals. Pianists from the surrounding area were Shelby Anderson, Sydney Ashbrook, Bryant Beckermann, Kaysha Beckermann, Danielle Boerboom, Andrew Dingmann, Erin Dingmann, Matthew Dingmann, Carmen Dischinger, Erin Gilpatrick, Kimberly Gross, Sarah Harmala, Karen Hendrickson, Kristen Hendrickson, Nicole Knickerbocker, Tyson Laakkonen, Rachel Lahr, Coralie Peterson, Kayla Raisanen, Kelsey Vigoren, Jillian Yanish and Hannah Zipoy. Students were recognized for earning various forum ribbon awards. They represent achievement in such areas as memorization, music reading, public performance, accompanying, and significant musical progress. Students recognized for taking part in the Arts and Academic Awards program were Shiana Aho, Sydney Ashbrook, Erin Gilpatrick, Molly Hurrle and Rachel Lahr. Recognized for taking part in the Federation Junior Festival were Shelby Anderson, Sydney Ashbrook, Bryant Beckerman, Kaysha Beckermann, Danielle Boerboom, Erin Gilpatrick, Tyson Laakkonen, Rachel Lahr, Coralie Peterson, John Tiemann, Stephen Tiemann and Hannah Zipoy. Rachel Lahr was honored for being a MMTA State Contest Finalist. Participating in the MMTA Theory Exam, Level 1, were Bryant Beckermann, Andrew Dingmann, Caitlin Torola. Level 2, Coralie Peterson. Congratulations to all of these fine musicians for a job well done!
