7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Dassel History Center. Minneapolis-based, performing artist Patrick Skully will portray American poet Walt Whitman. It is age-appropriate for high school students and adults.
There is no charge for the Dassel performance. Skully has written and will perform this show in approximately 25 communities in Minnesota during 2018-19. In 2017-18 he toured it to 24 communities. A new version of “Leaves of Grass – Illuminated” will be performed at the Guthrie Theatre in the Dowling Studio next July.
This event is sponsored by the Dassel Area Historical Society and the Dassel Library. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
