Lempi Sophie (Antti) Myllykangas was born Aug. 22, 1911, to Isaac and Mary (Branstrom) Antti, in French Lake Township, Wright County. She attended district schooling for her education in the French Lake area. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was presently a member of Apostolic Lutheran Church in Kingston. On Oct. 15, 1930, she married Roy Myllykangas in Kingston. They made their home in the Kingston area until Roy’s death in 1989. In 1990, Lempi moved to the Dassel Lakeside Apartments, where she lived until 2000, when she moved into the nursing home.  She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1989; daughter, Gloria Stiff; parents; sister, Lydia Merila; and one infant sister. She is survived by children, Joyce (Stanley) Smith of Kingston, Kenneth Myllykangas of Kingston, and Harlan (Lois) Myllykangas of Kingston; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives. Lempi loved to spend time outdoors in her gardens. She always had a large vegetable garden, and canned the vegetables that she grew. She had the magic touch with flowers in her garden, and always knew just what to do to make everything thrive. Lempi had been an active member of her church women organizations, a Sunday School teacher, and had helped serve many a lunch at church social events. She was a wonderful cook and could often be found in the kitchen making meals and her delicious bread. Lempi and Roy both had a love of travel; together they visited many places in the United States.
