This Sunday, July 8, the current Kimball Express team and the Minnesota Baseball Association Central Valley League will hold a celebration here in Kimball. And you’re all invited!
At 1 p.m. there will be a program to recognize the 1968 Kimball town ball team, the first team from Kimball to make it to the state amateur baseball tournament. That was 50 years ago, and some of those guys are still kicking. Several of them will be honored at the program Sunday.
The Kimball Express will host the St. Augusta Gussies in a regular league game following the program. The National Anthem and first pitches are at 1:55 p.m.
Following the game there will be a cookout with burgers and brats.
The 2017 Kimball Express is the eleventh Kimball team to go to the state tournament in Class C. The 2017 team went all the way to become the State Champions, and their uniforms now proudly bear patches to prove it.
Come on out for a grand time Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.
