Skiers representing Powder Ridge recently competed in USSA events at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Buck Hill in Burnsville, and Brule Mountain, Mich. Junior olympian Andrew Schultz recorded his first J1 victory in GS. He was 10th in SL. Megan Bacharach placed second in GS and third in SL for J3 women. While Josiah Powell started in 120th and broke into the top 10 with a seventh-place SL finish for J3 men. Molly Gaetz raced at Buck Hill and recorded one second and two third-place finishes in GS for J4-5 women. Amy Elmquist started her J1 season with second and third-place finishes in SL at Brule Mountain, Mich. Hyland Hills Classic Megan Bacharach took first place overall for women at the Hyland Hills Classic. Molly Gaetz took first place in the J4-5 class in a Slalom Invitational with a field of 100 men and women. Josiah Powell took fourth place overall for men at the classic. Jacob Powell took first place in the J4-5 men’s category. Several Powder Ridge skiers also competed in the Charles W. Stone Memorial Slalom at Buck Hill Tuesday, Dec. 23.
