Each year at its annual meeting, the Minnesota Home Care Association gives an award to an outstanding caregiver. To be eligible for this award, the prson must be actively employed in the home care field and provide services in a manner that is over and above that which would normally be expected or required. This year, the association awarded the honor to Mary Raisanen, a Home Health Aide employed by Cokato Manor Home Health since October of 2000. The clients she serves all speak highly of her – one went so far as to say “she is almost perfect.” Raisanen also acts as a preceptor to new staff and is “the best example of how to do the job right,” supervisor RNs state. Neil Johnson, executive director of the Minnesota Home Care Association, presented Raisanen with her award at a ceremony Tuesday, May 29, in the chapel area of Cokato Manor, which was followed by a reception.
