Preston Looman of Kimball was named to the All-Area Boys’ Basketball Team as named by the KDUZ/KARP sports staff. Looman is a forward on the Kimball Area High School varsity team coached by Nathan Hylla. Looman averages 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists per game. He is a “go-to” guy who improved as the season went on. Looman and other athletes named to the All-Area teams are nominated by their coaches. “We try to get out and see as many kids as possible, but we’re just not available to get to every game. That’s why we’re so thankful to our area coaches for giving us these nominations,” said KDUZ/KARP Sports Director Joel Niemeyer. The teams were announced on the Area Sports Roundup with Joel Niemeyer March 13 and 20. KDUZ/KARP is based in Hutchinson but covers 21 schools in seven counties. The Area Sports Roundup airs Saturday mornings at 10:10 a.m.
