Lorraine D. Konz died on Monday, June 17, 2002, at her home in Marty (Pearl Lake) at the age of 77.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty with Monsignor Daniel Taufen and Rev. Ray Donnay as co-celebrants. Private family burial will follow at a later date. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by Christian Mothers at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home.
Lorraine was born on Aug. 20, 1924, in Watkins to Henry and Susan (Mies) Donnay. She attended St. Gabriel’s Nurses’ School in Little Falls. Lorraine married Philip Konz on Oct. 10, 1946, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins. The couple made their home and farmed in Maine Prairie Township all of her life. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Marty, and of Christian Women.
Konz was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marge Hesse, and grandson Ryan Brix.
She is survived by her husband Philip; children: Donald (and Jeanette) Konz of Chokio, Kathryn (and Douglas) Holen of Eden Valley, Dennis Konz of St. Cloud, Anne (and Brian) Brix of Avon, Carolyn Konz of Granite Falls, N.C., Daniel (and Tammy) Konz of Kimball, Norbert Konz of Minneapolis, Rita Rouhani of Bastrop, Tex., Julie Johnson of Bastrop, Tex., Thomas (and Marlene) Konz, Anthony (and Jackie) Konz of Kimball, Nicholas (and Amy) Konz of Kimball, Phyllis Konz of Bastrop, Tex., and Kenneth (and Sandy) Konz of Kimball; brothers Norbert Donnay of Kimball and Walter Donnay of Watkins; sisters Louise Van Nurden of Watkins, Mary Ann Nething of Darwin, Dorothy Anderson of Watkins, and Mildred Konz of Cold Spring; 42 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
