Lost boy found March 27

Monday, March 27, at shortly before 5 p.m., the Stearns County Sheriff?Äôs Office was dispatched to a report of a lost 9-year old boy at the Mississippi River Park in Brockway Twp., about three miles north of Sartell. The caretaker Joshua Schott was walking with the boy. The 9-year old became upset and ran into the wooded area. Stearns County Sheriff?Äôs Office, Sartell Police Department, St. Stephen Fire and Rescue, and Gold Cross also responded to the scene. A perimeter was set up and the Sheriff?Äôs Office deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) to conduct the search. The boy eventually walked out from the woods onto the trail and was located by a firefighter. The boy was checked out by Gold Cross and unharmed, and was turned over to his mother Tia Ruegemer of Sauk Rapids.
