Louise Linn of Watkins died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 93.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas. Rev. Thomas Olson and Monsignor Daniel Taufen will officiate.

Louise Linn was born June 15, 1916, in Cold Spring to Michael and Margaret (Keil) Hommerding. She grew up on a farm by Cold Spring with five sisters and two brothers. She attended school through the eighth grade. Aug. 30, 1938, Louise was married to Ervin Linn. They farmed by Goodner Lake for many years and raised nine children. Louise was a member of the St. Nicholas parish. She loved to pray the rosary. Her hobbies included playing cards, tatting, embroidery, listening to old-time music, watching TV, baking, cooking and visits from family and friends. She also enjoyed visits from her grandchildren, especially when they were little new-born babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Viola Hommerding and Evelyn Schmitz, brother Ervin Hommerding, granddaughter Bonnie Linn, and great-granddaughter Ariel Linn.

Louise is survived by her husband Ervin Linn of Watkins, children Eileen (and Max) Wakefield of Cottage Grove, Ralph (and Theresia) Linn of Watkins, Clarence (and Marion) Linn of Woodbury, Richard (and Ann) Linn of Shakopee, JoAnn (and Ray) Schreiner of Cold Spring, Lucy (and Vern) Schreiner of Richmond, Loren (and Betty) Linn of Apple Valley, Roger (and Neva) Linn of Elk River, and Gary (and Teresa) Linn of Watkins; 40 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters Irene Schlangen of Richmond, Delores Mueller of Cold Spring, and Isabelle Schlangen of Cold Spring; brother Sylvester (and Marion) Hommerding of Prior Lake, and sister-in-law Lonie Hommerding of Cold Spring.

Music will be provided by Jolene Faber-Andrusick. Casket bearers will be Louise’s six sons Ralph, Clarence, Richard, Loren, Roger, and Gary Linn. Arrangements were by the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
