Lynnea Stay, 78

Lynnea Stay died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at her Annandale home under the care of hospice and her family. She was 78.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Fr. John Meyer will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Lynnea Mary Wurm was born May 3, 1946, in Maple Lake to Raymond and Viola (Jansen) Wurm. She was a 1964 graduate of Maple Lake High School. She was married to Eugene Erpelding. They made their home in Watkins, and they were blessed with four children; they later divorced. Lynnea lived her entire life in the Maple Lake and Annandale area. She devoted a majority of her professional life to the field of research and development at Malco Tools where she was employed for more than 25 years. On Jan. 16, 2004, she married Stanley Alan Stay in Las Vegas. They continued to make their home in Annandale.

Lynnea’s heart truly belonged to her family as she cherished their gatherings. She also delighted in bowling, playing cards and bingo, and engaged in invigorating games of Trivial Pursuit.

Lynnea was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, son David, grandson Nicholas, and siblings Sharon Winter, Rosemary Mattson, and David Wurm.

She is survived by her loving sons Gene Erpelding of Watkins, Steve Erpelding of Watkins, and Brad (and Jen) Erpelding of Richmond; grandchildren Blake, Samantha, Johnathan, Brady and Jordan; siblings Carol (and Herman) Fasching, and Ronald Wurm; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Lynnea’s grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. St. Ignatius Music Ministry will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
