Mandel convicted of harassment, assault

Richard Wayne Mandel, 32, of Kimball was recently convicted of harassment, and two counts of fourth degree assault. For harassment (pattern of harassing conduct) he is to serve 31 months in prison (20 2/3 months in prison and 10 1/3 months on supervised release, with the possibility of serving the entire 31 months in prison if he violates prison rules) and pay a $50 fine. For his two counts of fourth degree assault, Mandel is to serve two additional concurrent sentences of 17 months in prison (11 1/3 months in prision and 5 2/3 months on supervised release with the possibility of serving the entire 17 months in prison if he violate prison rules) and pay two $50 fines. Mandel was sentenced by Judge Hayden May 19, 2003.
