Marcelene “Marcy” Nistler, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, formerly of Watkins died peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, in Riverside, Calif. She was 84.

Marcelene “Marcy” Theresa Nistler was born in Watkins on Nov. 16, 1940, shortly after the historic Armistice Day Blizzard.

She met her future husband, Marlyn at a barn dance and they were married on Feb. 11, 1961. For 20 years she embraced life as a military wife and mother, meeting with grace the many challenges and adventures that came with service to our country. While stationed in Germany, Marcy traveled widely across Europe – visiting Spain, Czechoslovakia, Prague, and the Vatican in Rome –
experiences she cherished and often recalled.

A lifeling volunteer in her children’s schools and Scouts, Marcy later worked as a teacher’s aide for Ysleta ISD in El Paso, Texas, and for Moreno Valley USD in Calif.

Marcy was a talented crafter and artist, generously sharing her creativity by making many treasured items for family and friends. Her handiwork and warm spirit touched countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Alan Nistler, and brother Donald Geislinger.

Marcy is survived by her children Rhonda (Thomas) Bryant, Kelly (Keith) Mason, and Dereck Nistler; grandchildren Cory, Joseph, Rachel, Jarrod, Kyle, Jacob, Jarrett, Hannah, and Emma; great-grandchildren Adalynn, Karson, Caleb, Ashton, and Nolan; siblings Louis Geislinger, William (Billy) Geislinger, Dwight Geislinger, Connie Reichert, Eloise (Ellie) Hanley, and Sherry Burg.
