Marcella Brutger of Kimball died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at the Paynesville Hospital. She was 89.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. Tom Olson officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and at the church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service at 5 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Kimball.

Marcella Elizabeth Brutger was born May 5, 1920, to Anton and Theresa (Adolph) Tellers in Maine Prairie Township where she lived her entire lifetime. She married Ralph P. Brutger Jan. 16, 1940, in Kimball and he died July 6, 1983. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and in her younger years, dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Brutger; and sisters Theresa Zahler and Margaret Nothnagel.

Marcella is survived by her children Phyllis (and Allen) Kunkel of Plymouth and Jerry (and Renee) Brutger of Kimball; four grandsons Scott Kunkel, Mark Kunkel, Jeremy (and Melissa) Brutger, and Jeff Brutger; three great-grandchildren Jackson, Jared and Julia Brutger; sisters Viola Zahler of Buffalo, Lorraine Miller of Annandale, and Loretta Stenger of Watkins; also longtime friend Andy Hierlmaier of Watkins.

Pallbearers will be Tony Walter, Eugene Zahler, and Marcella’s four grandsons. Music for the service will be provided by Frosty Schiefelbein, organist and the St. Anne’s Choir.
