We had another interesting winter storm hit Minnesota late Sunday into Monday. This disturbance brought snow and freezing rain to parts of the state. Once again, it did create some travel difficulties to portions of the region.
As always, these storms keep the Minnesota State Patrol and our local law enforcement agencies busy with spin-outs and crashes. In addition, MnDOT was busy ahead of the storm in anticipation of the slippery roadways and during the storm event.
We will see another weaker system move out of North Dakota and South Dakota that could bring some light snow to Minnesota on Wednesday. It appears to be a fairly narrow band of accumulating snow possible at this point.
High pressure will return for Thursday and Friday. It is expected to be cooler than normal on Thursday before temperatures warm-up again on Friday and into the weekend. Highs by Sunday are expected to reach the lower 30s. By the way, we could see a little light snow again by Sunday.
Drive carefully with more slick roadways possible.
