Marie Oster of Watkins died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 90. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins; interment followed in the parish cemetery. Visitation was from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Marie was born to William and Margaret (Pflepsen) Korte July 24, 1914, in Cold Spring. She married John Oster May 1, 1937, in Minneapolis. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and volunteered as assistant librarian at St. Anthony School. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and crocheting, and she enjoyed cooking, music and singing. Marie was preceded in death by her husband John in 1978; daughter Shelly Oster; and brothers and sisters Bill Korte, Dan Korte, and Hildegard Korte. She is survived by her children Ronald (and Ruth) Oster, David (and Audrey) Oster, Jerrold (and Deb) Oster, Joyce (and Gordon) Howard, all of Watkins, Sharon (and Ed) Theis of Richmond; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; foster brother Lawrence (and Betty) Korte of Osseo.
