Marjorie Schauer, 85

Marjorie M. Schauer of South Haven died on Monday, June 17, 2002, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was 85 years old.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, at the Kimball Church of Christ with Pastor Jerry Albert officiating. Burial followed in Fair Haven Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Marjorie Marsada Schauer was born May 19, 1917, in Fair Haven to William and Lenora (Bremer) Capes. On June 29, 1939, Marjorie married Louis A. Schauer in Fair Haven; he preceded her in death on August 22, 1995. She was a homemaker and, for more than 35 years, a sales consultant with Avon. She lived in the South Haven area all her life, and was a member of the Kimball Church of Christ and the Avon President’s Club. She loved her family very much. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

Schauer was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, brother Eldon Capes, sister Virginia Bruns, and granddaughter Stephanie Schauer.

She is survived by her children: LaVonne (and Ernie) Kadlec of South Haven, Odell Schauer of South Haven, David (and Pat) Schauer of Kingston, and Daryl (and Debbie) Schauer of Brooksville, Fla.; brothers William “Bud” (and Elvera “Toots”) Capes of Kimball, and Mert (and Sandy) Capes of Brooksville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Darren, Kevin, Brandon, Damian, Daryk and Bryce Schauer. Organist for the funeral was Lori Miller.

Arrangements were by Ding-mann Funeral Care of Annandale.
