Marjorie Taylor of Watkins died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 97.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 9, at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca, Minn., with Rev. Rory Synoground officiating. Interment was in the Borgholm Cemetery in Bock, Minn.

Marjorie E. Taylor was born Feb. 15, 1912, near Armour. S.D. to Edward and Jesse (Andrews) Chandler. Marjorie married Walter Taylor March 31, 1930, in Bock. They resided in Bock until the early 1950s, when they moved to St. Paul. They moved to Watkins in 1982. Walter died in August 1985.

Marjorie became a resident at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins about a year and a half ago. Her hobbies included growing African violets, and she enjoyed playing cards with her family, and watching game shows on television.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, son Robert, granddaughter Holli Luedtke, and daughter-in-law Marjorie Taylor.

Marjorie is survived by her children Glenn (and Joyce) Taylor of Middle River, Minn., Virgil Taylor of Finlayson, and Robert (and Jean) Taylor of Darwin; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers were Jeff Babbitt, Mike Taylor, Todd Taylor, Brian Taylor, Mark Taylor and Paul Taylor. Arrangements were by the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
