McLeod County Fair Talent Contest

The McLeod County Amateur Talent Contest will be held Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. The show will start at 12 noon in the Corporate Tent. The contestants are working hard on their acts for a chance to win prizes and a trip to the Minnesota State Fair. The show is free, open to the public. Come and cheer on your favorite talent.

Contestants will compete in three classes. This year?Äôs contestants in the pre-teen category, open to children up to 12 years of age, are Sam Kaloff with a violin solo, a jazz dance group including Alia Muellerleile, Tatyana Beerbower, Tori Maidl, Tessa Henry, and Katelyn Krulikosky, and Elizabeth Becker with a hula hoop dance. The teen category (must be 13-18 years of age) brings a vocal competition to the stage. Contestants include Paris Curry, Erica Borchert, Savannah Joldersma, Izabel Larsen, Kendra Anhalt, Emily Williams, Samantha Luhning, Paige Nordquist, and Gemma Nava. The competition ends with the open category, open to any age group. Again, vocalists are competing this year, including Joey Booker, the duo of Marley Sanderson and Mariah Hovland, Tim Hanna, and Lacey Roemhildt.

Jim Fahey will host the McLeod County Talent Contest. Larry Dostal and Dostal Electronics will provide the sound equipment and expertise. Show coordination is by Jenine Nordquist; you are welcome to direct any questions to her at (320) 582-0711.
