Last week, Kimball mayor Tammy Konz (pictured on left) helped Meals on Wheels volunteer driver Anita Hoefer (right) deliver noon meals in the Kimball area. Both are pictured with Gertrude Stuve, a regular client of the Meals on Wheels program in Kimball. The Kimball program is coordinated through the Kimball Senior Dining Site, based at St. Anne’s Church. The meals are prepared in Maple Lake and then delivered to several communities including Annandale and Kimball. A number of area seniors gather on weekdays for a hot, healthful meal and good company. Those who cannot make it to the dining site regularly can have their meals delivered through the Meals on Wheels program. Hoefer is one of several volunteer drivers for the program. Frozen meals can be picked up several at a time, if a client lives outside of the local service area. Anyone wishing to learn more about the dining site or the Meals on Wheels program in Kimball can call the coordinator Rosalea Hoeft at (320) 398-2211 between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reservations are required one day or more in advance. Diners of all ages are always welcome. The menu is run each week in the Tri-County News on page 5. Staff photo by Gaylen Bicking
