Meet the candidates for House District 14B: Larry Hosch

·

DFL candidate for Minnesota House of Representative for district 14B is current mayor of St. Joseph, Larry Hosch. He first entered local politics four years ago when he ran for mayor of St. Joseph. That same year he graduated with a Master’s degree in social work program development from Augsburg University. He came out of that race victorious and later ran unopposed in the 2002 election. As mayor, he successfully reduced St. Joseph’s tax rate by 3 percent and presided over record economic development growth within the city’s commercial and industrial sectors. He was also winner of the Brother William Koutsky public service award. Hosch plans to focus his current campaign within the district by talking to voters and addressing local concerns over fair funding for education and the local communities, health care costs, and support for family farms.
