Shawn Meyer, Agriculture and Industrial Tech. teacher at Kimball Area High School, has been chosen as one of 29 semi-finalists for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year award. A selection panel of 23 community leaders meeting in St. Paul had the difficult task of choosing the semi-finalists from an initial field of 150 participants from across the state. The panel will meet again near the end of March to select up to 12 finalists. Current Minnesota Teacher of the Year, Gino Marchetti, will announce his successor at a banquet at the Northland Inn and Conference Center in Brooklyn Park May 2.
