Mid-week warm-up expected

·

Weather: The state of Minnesota certainly found out on Sunday that winter is far from over. Of course, we were teased with a taste of spring with temperatures very mild just over a week ago; but by the weekend cold and snowy conditions returned.

Some of the heavier snowfall amounts fell across parts of southern Minnesota on Sunday.
St. James reported 9.5 inches of snow. Redwood Falls was close behind with 9.1 inches of snow.

Hutchinson picked up
4.5 inches and Montevideo had
4.0 inches of snow. Morris and Elbow Lake reported about
2 inches of snow.

Meanwhile, Alexandria reported about 2.5 inches of snow.

Across northern Minnesota, the snowfall amounts were mostly very light.

We will slowly see temperatures warming up this week. With the arrival of a weak warm front for the midweek, we could see a wintery mix of precipitation.

Look for lots of 40s for daytime high temperatures for later in the week and even some 50s arriving by the weekend!

As we have seen, however, don?Äôt put away the snow blower just yet as there is still plenty of March and April ahead of us!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!
