University of Minnesota Extension and the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station have released the Minnesota Gardening Calendar for 2010. This award-winning calendar is developed for home gardening and landscape enthusiasts across the state. Minnesota Gardening 2010 is the only calendar designed and written exclusively for Minnesota.
This new calendar includes a feature on using vines in Minnesota home landscapes. There are perennial, annual and even edible vine crops that add unique features to our home landscapes. It also has a map showing the average frost-free dates for Minnesota along with a USDA plant hardiness zone map. In addition, the calendar provides up-to-date information about the various organizations that serve home gardeners in Minnesota.
Minnesota Gardening 2010 is distinguished from other calendars in that it’s written specifically with our climate and growing conditions in mind. Each month has a list of University of Minnesota research-based timely tips and suggestions for lawn, garden and houseplant care. Also included is how-to information for dealing with gardening and landscape activities like pruning, weed control, disease prevention and dealing with insect problems effectively.
In addition to being full of good information, the 9-inch by 12-inch spiral-bound calendar is very attractive with its beautiful full-color photos of indoor and outdoor flowers, trees and landscapes.
