The 18th annual Mother’s Day dinner, sponsored by the Kimball Express baseball team and Playland Ballroom, was a huge success. They had record attendance with 588 people served. Manager Tom Marquardt and the players were happy to treat all the mothers and their families to a nice chicken and ham dinner. The Express would like to give a very special “thanks” to the Playland staff again this year; they do a terrific job of preparing the meal. Thanks to Dennis and Jan Schmitz for all their hard work. Don’t forget that the Playland staff serves up weekly Wednesday evening chicken dinners at Playland.
