Neither rain nor fire deter Meeker County Demolition Derby drivers or their fans

The Meeker County Demolition Derby took place Saturday, June 21 despite stormy weather earlier in the evening. The winners in each division are as follows: Stock division Jeremy Marquardt of New Ulm placed first. Jay Kandt of Buffalo Lake took second and Chris Beckmann of Cokato took third. Kandt and Beckmann tied tied for second and received the same prize. Compact division Corey Press of Watkins took first. Chuck Kipf of Watkins took second. Scott Schneider of Watkins took third. Eric Farber of Maple Lake took fourth. Pickup division Jay Kandt of Buffalo Lake took first. Brian Frericks of Melrose took second. Jim Riebe of Watkins took third.  Chain stock division Steve Erpelding of Watkins took first. Jeremy Elliot of Kerkhoven took second. Chris Remer of Howard Lake took third. Jeremy Meyer of Olivia took fourth. Best decorated went to James Marquette of Litchfield. Submitted by Wally Strand
