Patricia I. Freund, M.D. has begun seeing patients at the Meeker Memorial Clinic (MMC) ?Äì Dassel on Jan. 2, 2017. Dr. Freund will continue the full-time family practice services to the community that has been in place for the past 10 years under the direction of Daniel Schminke, M.D. Dr. Freund will bring a strong clinical background and team approach to area residents having served for the past seven years as a full-time family practice physician at the Affiliated Community Medical Clinic (ACMC), Litchfield East Clinic and as an active medical staff physician for Meeker Memorial Hospital (MMH) caring for patients admitted to the hospital.
Her experience as a family practice physician emphasizes comprehensive medical care for families as whole, and as individual members, caring for patients from birth to advanced age. Medical concerns are managed through diagnosis, treatment and prevention of common illnesses and chronic diseases, taking into account genetics, family history and mental health. MMC has offered a family medicine model, an approach led by the family physician with a clinical team to treat acute and chronic illnesses, provides preventative care and health education for all ages. This approach helps keep patients healthy, can better diagnose conditions early and connects patients to needed community resources, hospital services or continued care for specialized medical needs.
Dr. Freund believes in a preventative approach to medicine. ?ÄúI encourage annual physical exams, immunizations and having a conversation with my patients to manage their health,?Äù says Freund. This approach helps her to encourage healthy actions like weight loss, blood pressure control, etc. and identify early signs and symptoms to complex medical conditions to get her patients continued care and improved outcomes.
MMC ?Äì Dassel is a provider based clinic of MMH which is located at 740 Parker Ave., Dassel, MN 55325. MMC-Dassel has been open since Oct. 2006, with a full-time family practice physician led clinic with on-site lab and x-ray services that uses a team approach to provide high-quality health care services to area residents. In addition, MMC-Dassel provides on-site physical therapy M, W, F and OB/GYN services provided by Scott Schultz, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. scheduled on Th weekly. General clinic hours are: M-Th 8 a.m. to
