National Honor Roll inductees Two Kimball area students are included on the 2003-04 National Honor Roll (NHR). Potentially qualifying students are asked to submit information about grade-point average (GPA), interests, activities and future goals. Students must maintain at least a ‘B’ average to be eligible. Michelle Condon of Watkins graduated from Kimball Area High School in May 2004. Condon was on the honor roll, was a member of the National Honor Society, was included in “Who’s Who Among American High School Students,” and was named a student of the month. Condon is also a community volunteer, a member of her church youth group, and was involved in speech team, cheerleading and softball. Condon plans to pursue a legal secretary AAS degree at St. Cloud Technical College. Danielle Begley of Kimball will begin her senior year at Kimball Area High School this fall. Begley is a presidential scholar and has been included on the high honor roll. She has been student of the month, is a community volunteer, a member of her church youth group, in the arts club and drama club, and has participated in school plays. Begley is in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Beta Club. Begley plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at a Christian college. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo U of W-River Falls dean’s list Jackie Coulter of Kimball and Rebecca Lashinski of South Haven were included on the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. To be included on the list, students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.5 or better. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo U of M-Duluth dean’s list Sarah M. Wicker of Clearwater is on the University of Minnesota-Duluth spring semester dean’s list. To be included on the list, students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.5 or better. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo U of M-Twin Cities dean’s list Andrea Peterson of Darwin, Amber Peterson of South Haven, and Kelly Oman of South Haven are included on the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities spring semester dean’s list. To be included on the list, students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.66 or better. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Kimball Kruisers 4-H Club tour The Kruisers met at the Wills’ home Sunday, June 6. Michael Wills presented on dog training and duck decoys. Brian Wills demonstrated how to make a rocket. The Kruisers next went to the Schiefelbein home where Austin Schiefelbein gave a presentation about his sheep project. The tour ended at John and Margaret Arnold’s home, where the Kruisers enjoyed a pot-luck dinner, held a regular meeting and played games. Old business o Schedules for the Cash Wise brat sale arranged. o Work schedules for the 4-H food stand at the Meeker County Fair were finalized. The Kruisers will work from 3:15-7:30 p.m. Friday, August 6. o Fair registrations are due Thursday, July 1. o Sign-ups for club projects for the fair. The same theme for the scarecrow, banner, barrel and flower pot will be worked on by everyone. New business o Records are due to leaders by Monday, July 19. o The clean-up day for the fair is Monday, July 26. Our group is in charge of the child development area. o The club decided to donate $50 to a family in need of items to help keep them busy while another family member was in the hospital. The Ken and Dawn Kuechle family will purchase the needed items.
