Temperatures continue to be below-average for this time of the year. Parts of Minnesota once again saw some light rain and light snow Sunday as a weak surface-low pushed across the region.
The way this spring is going, we could see some snow all the way into May. I hate to say it, but Minnesota has experienced snow into the first week of June in the past. Let’s hope this isn’t one of those years.
We are expecting temperatures back into the 50s for Wednesday and Thursday along with some rain chances. An isolated thunderstorm can’t be ruled out across the Upper Midwest.
Unfortunately, temperatures are projected to fall back into the 40s by Friday. We will remain below-average for this upcoming weekend.
In case you are wondering, the 6- to 10-day outlook continues to show temps will be cooler than average for the start of the month of May. Not a lot of moisture is expected along the way, which is some good news for spring flooding concerns.
Keep thinking warm thoughts.
Weather history: On this date in 1954, records show that heavy rain fell across parts of Minnesota. For example, Mora received seven inches of rain in just over 10 hours.
Weather facts: Did you know flash floods are the most “destructive type of flooding?” The flooding combines the “destructive power of flooding with incredible speed.”
