Not too early to get sports physicals

With the school year winding up, it’s not too early to think about the 2007-08 school year. Student-athletes and parents should consider having athletic physical exams completed prior to the start of 2007-08 sports seasons. The Minnesota State High School League requires high school athletes to have a completed physical examination every three years to participate in athletic activities with proper documentation from the individuals performing the exam. Students are not allowed to practice or participate in sports without documentation of a current physical exam on file. Exams can be performed by physicians and clinics.; some chiropractors also perform physical exams. Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Sartell will conduct physical exams Wednesday, June 13, and Monday, Aug. 6, at 4 p.m. at Abbott Northwestern Specialty Care Center, Suite 205. Call (320) 534-2600 to schedule a time. Bring a competed Minnesota State High School League form (available at Kimball High School), and $15 cash or check to your appointment ($15 will be donated back to your school’s athletic department). Make checks payable to Kimball High School. For more information about the current status of a student’s physical or any other questions, call Kyle Inforzato, KAHS activities director at (320) 398-7700, ext. 101.
