Notice of application for a livestock feedlot permit
Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 116, that Lawrence J. and Julie Schneider of LJS Farms, LLC, have made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency of the County of Stearns for a permit to construct or expand a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.
The existing and/or proposed feedlot will be located in the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 15 Township 122 Range 029, Minnesota. The existing facility consists of Colored and Holstein finishing steers 165 head and 165 animal units (AU). Types of buildings 40’ x 56’ bedpack open front shed with 5215 square foot concrete lot, 34’ x 60’ bedpack open front shed with 4485 square foot lot and 30’ x 60’ confinement barn, 30’ x 60’ bedpack open front shed with4485 square foot lot and 30’ x 60’ bedpack open front shed with 1600 square foot cvoncrete lot. The proposed facility consists of Colored and Holstein finishing steers 694 head and 694 AU. Type of building 69’ x 231’ confinement barn with an 81’ x 231’ x 12’ under barn concrete pit and 50’ x 100’ x 4’ stacking slab that will capture run-off from the 4485 and 1600 square ft lots. The 5215 sf lot will be abandoned. The total animal unit capacity will be 694 AU.
This publication shall constitute as noticve to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.
