October minutes summary from Kimball School Board

The Kimball School Board held their Oct. 21, 2024, regular board meeting at 6 p.m.

The board hired one high school custodian and one high school paraprofessional; approved 2024-2026 Assistant Business Manager contract, and accepted resignation of one paraprofessional and one custodian.

The principals updated the board on their buildings; enrollment K-12, homecoming festivities, 6:10 Connect; teacher observations, District Advisory, field trips, LEEA awards, parent teacher conferences, annual Halloween parade, leadership team, and FAST Bridge results.

The superintendent gave updates on the construction and parking lot progress, 4-day school week, community survey proposal, senior activity passes, substitute rates, open house for new construction at the high school and elementary school, and Minnesota Rural Education Association.

The board approved an increase in sub rates, appointed a board representative to Scholarship Committee; adopted a Lead in Drinking Water plan; adopted a resolution supporting Form A, MSHSL grant application; approved language regarding sixth-grade activity fees, and approved removing MSHSL requirement for non-MSHSL sanctioned activities and events, and reviewed 20 policies.
