Saturday, June 29, beginning at 10 a.m. in Fair Haven
This will be the 76th year of the Fair Haven Old Settlers Picnic. It’s a great time for everyone to come out and enjoy a day of fun and visiting friends, young and old.
o 10 a.m. Parade, anyone wanted to participate in the parade should come to the Concordia Lutheran Church at 9 a.m. for line-up. No registration fee.
o 11 a.m. Children’s tractor pull, ages 4-12. No registration fee.
Fair Haven Lions Beef Dinner. Concession stands, games, food, etc. If you have a non-profit organization that would like to earn some extra money, set up a concession stand in the park. Contact Vanessa Schlueter at 236-2457 or Lynda Mertens at 236-7672 to reserve a space. There is a $10 charge.
o 12:30 p.m. “Come and get happy” program awards for oldest couple, oldest woman and man, newest baby, just married, most grandchildren and longest distance traveled.
o 1 p.m. Garden tractor pull. Registration fee $10. Questions on tractor pull, contact Mike or Vanessa Schlueter at
236-2457.
o 2 p.m. Ice-cream cones for 5-cents. Horseshoe pits, bring your own shoes. Playground for children. Money-in-the-hay game. Prize drawing from button purchase.
o 7 p.m. Queen coronation; emcee will be Harlan Graphenteen.
o 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Dance by “Wild Wood.”
The Fair Haven Old Settlers Committee would like to extend our condolences to the family of George and Helen Houchins of Annandale, our royal couple and longest-married couple. Sadly, both have passed since last year’s celebration.
