Stearns County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at approximately 11:09 p.m. Friday, July 27, on County Road 8 north of Highway 23 in the city of Rockville. A 2001 Chevy Suburban, driven by Charles Johannes, 45 of St. Cloud, was northbound on County Road 8 just north of Highway 23 in the city of Rockville when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the road. Johannes overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go off the left side of County Road 8. The vehicle struck a diveway, causing it to roll. There were two passengers in the vehicle – Jay Kraus, 37 of Cold Spring, and Veronica Duscher, 44 of Rockville. All parties refused medical attention at the scene. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Rockville Fire and Rescue, the Minnesota State Patrol and Gold Cross Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation.
