Members of charitable, non-profit organizations are encouraged to contact Meeker Cooperative to apply for Operation Round Up(R) funds. The last day to submit applications for this grant period is Thursday, Nov. 6. Meeker Cooperative members participate in Operation Round Up(R) by allowing their electric bills to be “rounded-up” to the next highest dollar. Employees also allow their paychecks to be “rounded-down” to the next lowest dollar. All contributions are tax-deductible. This is the fifth year Meeker Cooperative has offered the Operation Round Up(R) program. During this time, $118,278 has been distributed to 307 organizations, including law enforcement and fire departments, schools, youth and senior programs, community events and agriculture and historical societies. Meeker Cooperative provides energy, long-distance telephone and other services to its member-owners in rural Meeker County, as well as portions of McLeod, Wright, Stearns, Kandiyohi and Renville counties. Applications are available at the Meeker Cooperative office, 503 E. Hwy. 12, Litchfield. Call Meeker Cooperative at (320) 693-3231, or (800) 232-6257 for more information.
