Opportunity for second round of input on Stearns County Parks Master Plan

·

Stearns County is in the final stages of a year-long process to develop a master plan for the county parks, trails, and recreation system. In this final phase, it’s important to again hear from residents, this time to find out how they think the county should prioritize investments in our park system.

More than 1,200 people responded to the first Stearns County Parks, Trails, and Recreation Master Plan survey earlier this year. That phase 1 input helped inform the draft recommendations found in this survey. These recommendations include goals for trail development, new facilities, and expansion of activities in the parks.

To take this short three-question survey, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/StearnsCoParks_Fall2023. This survey will be open through the end of November.

The year-long process to develop a master plan for county parks and trails began in December 2022 and will be completed in the next few months. The plan will guide investments and initiatives over the next 10-20 years. Input from Stearns County residents, visitors, and business owners is important to help the county plan for the future. The last plan was developed in 1989 and included recommendations for the development of the Lake Wobegon Trail and Quarry Park.
